Welcome back to another haul! Today is mainly going to be things in preparation for summer, and other random things. Firstly I'll start off with all the makeup and cosmetics things, then the clothing part.
I've been a bit lipstick crazy this month, I've bought 3 lately! The first one I bought is Mac Creme Cup which everyone and their mother has! Now I have it, it is a summer staple for sure. It is a light pink shade but with a mauve undertone. The formula is cremesheen which is so moisturising on the lips and doesn't feel sticky at all. Although it is a creamy formula it's so long lasting.
Next I bought a Zoeva Luxe Cream Lipstick in Venus Phase. I've never really heard anyone talk about Zoeva lipsticks, just the brushes and eyeshadow palettes, so when I saw them I was intrigued. Venus Phase is a more wearable orange colour because it is muted down. It is not completely matte but not as creamy as the Mac lipstick however super opaque. I can't wait to wear this with a tan in the summer. Sidenote, the packaging is so sleek and expensive looking! The shut is magnetic, and that makes me happy!!
The final lipstick I bought is the Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick in Kimchi Doll. Shaanxo raves about this lipstick and I couldn't agree more. It is a baby peach colour. When it is built up it is more pink, but if you wear it sheer, it is much more peachy. It goes with so many different makeup looks and a perfect pale pink for the hotter months.
Next I stocked up on my trusty Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in 010 Ivory. Now if you don't have this, what are you waiting for?! This is the perfect concealer for summer as it gives such a radiance to the under eye area, which banishes your bags. However I wouldn't recommend using it on spots as it isn't as high coverage as the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and too shimmery if you're trying to hide a spot, it'll only draw attention to it.
Recently I bought a new mascara. The Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara which I might do a review on soon after I've tested it out properly. So far, it's a win, gives loads of volume and length. One or two layers is a subtle coating, but if you build it up to three or four you have mega falsies. So versatile.
For my nails I purchased Essie Ballet Slippers and the No Chips Ahead top coat. What a combo! Ballet Slippers is the perfect baby pink, barely there polish. I wear this for school all the time because it is so natural and undetectable. But a great colour for summer. The top coat is something everyone needs. It doesn't chip your nails! My nails last a full 7 days. Mind blowing! I don't know how it does it but it's great! The only issue I have is that it takes a while to dry, so sometimes I wake up with print marks on my nails, but another sweep of the topcoat and you're good to go.
I've also bought a lot of makeup brushes too, all very cheap but good quality. I discovered a new brand called Lottie which is the makeup range of Ciate Nail Polishes. I bought from Superdrug the Blush Brush, Concealer Brush and Eye Blender Brush. The blush brush I use for powder because it is huge! The concealer brush is great for packing eyeshadow on because it is very flat and dense and the eye brush is very long and tapered which I love using to apply colour to the crease or outer corner.
The final beauty product is the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. In my last post I mentioned this in my empties and I can't live without this so I bought another! It leaves my skin so moisturised and not stripped after I've used it which I really love.
Onto clothing and shoes!
For me summer screams crop tops and bright clothes. So Urban Outfitters had a sale on and I bought two tops. The first is a t-shirt, white with blue stripes. It is quite slouchy and round neck and fairly long for a crop top, but such a staple with shorts etc (BGD Striped Linen Tee In Ivory and Navy). The next top is a slightly thicker material and more like a crop top. Again slouchy and round neck, both very similar but this one is an opposite colour way (BGD Slouchy Stripe Pocket Sweat Tee in Navy and Ivory).
From Pink (Victoria's Secret) I bought an Oversized Tunic length top. It's blue and has mesh detailing on the sleeves. This isn't necessarily for when I'm on holiday but for when I'm in England and the weather isn't too great but not cold.
From River Island I bought the Grey Marl Ribbed Joggers which are the softest and comfiest things ever! They're so casual but can really be dressed up as they taper off at the bottom and ribbed at the end. Pair these with a simple white top like the ones from Urban Outfitters or with espadrilles and a leather jacket - or the next purchase...
The final purchase is a pair of shoes! I've been umming and arring over these shoes for a while now and I finally took the plunge. They are the Adidas Stan Smith Trainers and I'm so happy I got them. They're all white but at the back green with 'stan smith' and a picture of him on the tounge. They're simple but will go with anything. I'm excited to pair then with outfits.
P.S: Do you like the background of the pictures? I got inspiration from Lily Pebbles' blog and decided to take my pictures on a sushi rolling mat!
Thats it for this week! Come back next week for something totally new!
E x
